The Banks along Wingspread Drive

The Banks along Wingspread Drive

You will see that work has begun on restoring the appearance of the banks along the drive. The delay in attending this situation was caused by a desire to develop a long-term strategy for solving the problems.

The Board, Horst Management and the Landscape Committee are quite aware that this condition was bad. After study and consultation, a program to address the issue of the deteriorating weed and crown vetch conditions has been determined and initiated. It is the hope of all that we will soon see positive results and a significantly improved drive into Wingspread.

We want to thank the residents for your patience in allowing us to deal with this troublesome matter in this way.

Partial Mowing

You will note that only limited mowing was done this week. Our inspection indicated that the major areas were not really bad but the fronts needed attention. Again, this was done to work toward reducing our deficit in the grounds keeping account. It is most likely that a complete mowing will be done next week. To help you with a perspective on this you should know that a complete mowing costs almost $2000.

The Board is fully aware that other grounds problems exist and will require attention. A few items have been authorized but a number of these issues have been turned over to the new Landscape Committee for their recommendation.

Mowing/Newsletter

We have not had the lawns mowed for several weeks because of the dry conditions and the fact that most of the grass has become dormant. This was also done as an economy move as we are over budget on the Grounds Maintenance for the year.

It is likely we will have to bring in the mowing crew soon, especially with the recent rains and the rains forecast for next week.

Today was the deadline for submission of material for the Wingspread newsletter and, most likely, the next edition should be brought to you late next week.
